Codie – Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Codie! By accessing, purchasing, uploading, or customizing templates through our platform, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Please read carefully before using our services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, purchasing, or submitting templates on Codie, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the platform.

2. Use of the Platform

  • Codie is a marketplace for ready-made web and mobile app templates, and a hub connecting buyers with independent freelancers for post-purchase customization.
  • All users (buyers, creators, freelancers) must comply with these Terms as well as our Privacy Policy.
  • Codie may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the platform means acceptance of the updated Terms.

3. Developers’ Responsibilities

  • Upload only original templates or those you are authorized to sell.
  • Ensure templates comply with Codie’s Quality Control Guidelines.
  • You grant Codie a license to display, market, and sell your templates.
  • You agree to Codie’s Customization & Post-Sale Policy (see Section 7).
  • Violations may lead to suspension or removal from the marketplace.

4. Buyers’ Responsibilities

  • Purchased templates are for personal or business use only.
  • Redistribution, resale, or sublicensing without permission is prohibited.
  • You are responsible for hosting and deployment.
  • Customizations are optional services delivered by freelancers under Codie’s policy (see Section 7).

5. Intellectual Property

All templates remain the intellectual property of their respective creators. Codie does not claim ownership but reserves the right to showcase templates for promotional purposes.

6. Payments and Refunds

  • All payments are processed securely through third-party providers.
  • Refunds are issued only if the template is defective or misrepresented.
  • Revenue shares with developers are settled monthly.

7. Customization & Product Upload Policy

  • By uploading a product, you agree that buyers may request customization on it.
  • Codie will first inform the original creator. If unavailable, decline, or fail to respond, Codie may reassign the customization to another approved freelancer.
  • Buyers contract with freelancers directly via Codie’s platform, usually with escrow and milestone-based payments.
  • Ownership: the original template license remains unchanged. Custom code is licensed to the Buyer upon full payment.

8. Freelancer NDA Agreement

  • Freelancers agree not to disclose or reuse client information or project data outside the agreed customization.
  • All confidential files must be deleted after delivery unless client requests retention.
  • NDA obligations survive after project completion.
  • Breach of NDA may lead to suspension, removal, or legal action.

9. Prohibited Activities

  • Uploading illegal, harmful, or plagiarized content.
  • Attempting to hack, exploit, or damage the platform.
  • Misuse of Codie’s brand, trademarks, or materials.

10. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

Codie provides the platform “as is” and makes no guarantees of uninterrupted service. We are not liable for damages arising from use, misuse, or inability to use our services. Customization contracts are between Buyer and Freelancer; Codie acts only as facilitator.

11. Amendments

Codie reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page, and continued use constitutes acceptance.
