Codie – License Terms

These License Terms govern the use of templates purchased through Codie. By buying or using any template, you agree to the following conditions.

1. License Options

Codie offers two types of licenses. The buyer must select the appropriate license at the time of purchase:

  • Regular License
Use, by you or one client, in a single end product which end users are not charged for. The total price includes the item price and a buyer fee.
Additional Rule: A Regular License is priced at 10% of the Commercial License and can only be used for one domain name. The client must provide Codie with the intended domain at the time of purchase. Any additional domain requires a new license.
  • Commercial License
Use, by you or one client, in a single end product which end users can be charged for. The total price includes the item price and a buyer fee.
Additional Rule: This license allows unlimited domain usage for the same end product, including SaaS, marketplaces, or products monetized from end users.

2. Grant of License

When you purchase a template, you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it for your project under the selected license type. Intellectual property remains with the original creator.

3. Prohibited Uses

  • Reselling or redistributing the template as-is.
  • Claiming ownership of the original template.
  • Using the template for unlawful activities.
  • For Regular Licenses: using the same template on multiple domain names without a Commercial License upgrade.

4. Customization Rules

Codie provides a freelancer community for template customization. By uploading a product, the creator agrees that:

  • Client customization requests are offered to the template creator first.
  • If the creator is unavailable or declines, Codie may assign the work to approved freelancers.
  • Freelancers must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before customizing client projects.

5. Domain Verification (Regular License)

Clients purchasing a Regular License must provide Codie with their intended domain name. Codie reserves the right to audit and verify usage. Any violation (e.g., using multiple domains under a Regular License) will require upgrading to a Commercial License.

6. Intellectual Property

All templates remain the property of their creators. Customizations do not transfer ownership and remain bound by the original license.

7. Liability

Codie provides templates “as is” and is not responsible for damages from misuse, customization, or deployment.

8. Updates

Codie may update these License Terms from time to time. Continued use implies acceptance of any changes.
